What Makes the Tighter Together Workout program different?
Each Challenge has a new workout program that can only be yours by joining the challenge. Exclusive to Fall 2025, we have combined the aesthetic goals (how we look) and athletic/ performance and quality of life goals (how we move) into one program. We have taken a hard look at the research available that applies to women’s healthspan and protocols that improve the aging process and made sure that no component is missing. The online world makes fitness confusing and exclusive and contradictory, but this program weaves the undeniable need for building muscle together with mobility, cardiovascular health, power, strength, coordination and stability– all of these become increasingly important for heart health, bone density, cognitive function, and metabolic flexibility as we age.
That said, we’ve made this program fun, accessible, and realistic. Every workout has a clear intention, flexible options for home or gym, a 4-day split, and even 30-minute versions. The goal? To help you finish just as strong as you started—and build a foundation to keep going, not burn out.
Having confidence in a structured plan (not random workouts) delivers lasting benefits. A few powerful stats to show why joining this program is a no-brainer—and a real reminder that we’re all aging:
- Lifting weights and resistance exercise can increase bone density in the spine by 3–4% in just 8 months for postmenopausal women, while also improving daily function.
- Strength–balance–gait programs reduce falls by ~23% in older adults
- Comprehensive strength programs reduce risk of many injuries including ACL tears, runner’s knee, rotator cuff injuries, low back pain, and many more
- Modest amounts of plyometric and strength work in well structured programs has been shown to reduce risk of fractures in post-menopausal women
- Combination of resistance and aerobic training shown to improve mental health and performance of daily tasks via quality of life questionnaires
- Adults meeting both aerobic exercise and muscle-strengthening guidelines had a 47% lower risk of CVD-related mortality
Another comprehensive analysis found that 30–60 minutes/week of resistance training was associated with:
- 17% lower all-cause mortality
- 18% lower risk of CVD (cardiovascular disease) events
- 9% lower cancer risk
The Tighter Together Challenge is marvelous blend of strength, aerobic, mobility and core that is supported by the evidence to provide benefits like these.
During perimenopause and menopause, declining levels of estrogen and progesterone contribute to an increased sensitivity to stress and a greater vulnerability to cortisol dysregulation (Lovell et al., 2022). Estrogen plays a buffering role in the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis; when estrogen declines, cortisol reactivity can become heightened (Taylor et al., 2019). Therefore, strategies such as strength training, aerobic exercise, and structured recovery (e.g., sleep hygiene, deload weeks, and nutrition) are essential for cortisol regulation in midlife women (Gibson et al., 2020).
A “deload” phase—a planned reduction in training intensity or volume—is commonly used in athletic training cycles. While its primary goal is to reduce fatigue and enhance long-term performance, deloading also helps to re-regulate HPA axis function and bring cortisol back to baseline when accumulated stress has become excessive (Kellmann, 2010). Moves App provides a Deload Week available within your program library to meet this need!
A structured exercise routine that includes both strength and aerobic training, alongside sufficient nutrition and strategic recovery, has been shown to attenuate cortisol dysregulation and improve quality of life during the menopausal transition (Santoro et al., 2021).
What Makes Tighter Together so effective?
The results speak for themselves—but it’s the process that builds true sustainability. One of the biggest myths in fitness is that workouts alone drive fat loss and leanness. The truth? Nutrition moves the needle. The real key to progress is finding a simple, sustainable way of eating—week after week—that supports your goals, whether that’s fat loss, muscle building, breastfeeding, or beyond. You can’t out-train poor nutrition, which is why we provide custom protocols to set you up for lasting success.
Tighter Together gives you multiple ways to approach nutrition: a personalized fat loss macro count, a personalized maintenance macro count (for after you’ve reached your goal), and “plate-building” templates that use portions to guide you—no tracking required. You’ll walk away with the tools and education to customize your plan not just during the challenge, but long after it’s over.
